Do Not Open Until...

We got a new TV, but you'd never know. Check out this photo of our family room. See the new television?

Nope. It's not the one sitting in the cabinet. That old thing is eight years old - ancient in terms of technology. Look again...in the lower right corner of the picture.

Yep. That lovely Philips box peeking out from behind the couch houses our new, fabulous, too-large-for-the-average-viewer flat panel TV.

We purchased it on March 8th. MARCH 8TH! That was 80 days ago to be exact. "So why is it still sitting in a box behind your couch," you may ask. "Are you waiting until the 89th day to return it within the 90-day period? Are you delaying until it becomes outdated and obsolete? Are you mad?" All good questions.

Sometimes I forget we even have a new TV. Do you know any males on this planet who go out and buy a 1080p LCD High Definition TV just to have it sit behind their couch in a box? Well, apparently I happen to be married to one of them. And I won't even go into the details about this preposterous situation. Just know that I am making a pledge here and now to resolve the situation before 100 days have passed. It's time to take matters into my own hands. (Dear Husband, if you're reading this, consider it done).

I'm sort of becoming fond of it. It's a lovely rest for magazines that haven't been perused yet. :) However, I'm excited to see this R&B console. Maybe drool over it a bit.

What are you doing with the eight year old, outdated, television? At first I thought the television was above the fireplace. Great story and I am sure Mark will be thrilled with the final product.

Hey Bridge! That's a lovely tv, darling. I wonder what it looks like out of the box! I visited Glass Booth and took the tests. I was surprised to learn that I should vote for John McCain! Wierd.

LOL! If it makes you feel better, we bought paint for our main floor and it took Nate over a year before he cracked open a single paint can (I'm not allowed to paint without the perfectionist's supervision). It's taking almost as long to finish the project. Then again, new TV's are an entirely different story for him.

Yeah, I agree with Adam. I thought it was that fabulous painting above the fireplace. I thought to myself...now that is one cool TV. Now I think you have one cool picture over your fireplace. And a very cool Philips-box-sidebar too.

Oh - and yeah. I'm in the same boat as you. Only I've forgotten the date of his birthday! Do you know it?
